Napa Valley has a grape glut. Because the 2018 harvest was of "historic proportion," there is still a lot of last year's wine in tanks and storage. That means there is less room for wines made from the recently-completed 2019 harvest. Add to that the there wasn't the demand for as much wine as the 2018 harvest produced, and there's an oversupply of wine in Napa right now. It presents an opportunity for wineries in other states to purchase high quality grapes for their wines and have the upper hand in negotiating price. -- NAPA VALLEY REGISTER
